Camp New Delhi. 3rd January, 1964 I an enclosing herewith a copy of the statement I have issued to the Press today. It gives in nutshell the substance of the talk we had on December 31 here. I was not very much enthusiastic about reporting our talk to the Press. I would have liked to wait up to February. But on the very next day I found important papers in the country carrying a report of your interview with a P.T.I. correspondent. It presented a dim or rather an incomplete picture of your open mind. As the report was likely to create uncalled for tension in the public mind I thought it wise to report to the Press the substance of our talk depicting the correct situation regarding grant of Government permission to the Rock Memorial Statue. I an leaving tonight for Forbay from where I shall soon go to Caloutta. I propose to roach Madras in the 2nd or 3rd week of January. I am giving below my Calcutta address:- Eknath Renade, 76/2, Cornwallis Street, Flat No. X-12, Calcutta Yours sincerely, Organising Secretary
